DIESEL & PLANT

The D&P Department is a small group of volunteers that look after the railway's diesel locos, the diesel railcrane, the crawler crane and other bits and pieces of plant that no-one else is responsible for!

Current projects include the Class 14 N.C.B.No.38, formerly BR D.9513 which is steadily drawing to completion and M.D.H.B.No.36 - an industrial Hudswell Clarke. Next on the list are the Smiths Crawler crane and the second Fowler from Selby.

We undertake all kinds of work, from painting to engine overhauls and, of course, all the general maintenance of the items. The locos in our charge are as follows, and although some are quite common in preservation, some of the locos are rare specimens.
